Stacy D. Conner to be nominated as Second Vice President

Lonny Poe, pastor of Sunset Canyon Baptist Church in Dripping Springs has announced his intention to nominate Stacy D. Conner for the position of Second Vice President of the Baptist General Convention of Texas during its gathering in San Antonio this fall. Stacy has been pastor at First Baptist Church of Muleshoe since 1991. Prior to serving in Muleshoe he served as pastor of First Baptist Matador and as Minister of Activities at First Baptist Plainview.

Stacy served on the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas from 1993-1995. He has also served on the Christian Education Coordinating Board of the BGCT and held the position of Vice- Chairman from 1997-1998. Stacy is currently a Trustee of Wayland Baptist University and is writing preaching curriculum for use in the university’s religion department.

Stacy is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University. He received his M.Div from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1988 and completed his Doctorate of Ministry in Homiletics at Brite Divinity School in 1998.
