BWA Funds to be Withdrawn

Alan Stanford of Baptist World Alliance wrote the following in the wake of the SBC action to withdraw funds from the BWA.
Marketing itself is something new for the BWA, which has
relied on its member body contributions supplemented by word of mouth
donations from friends. It has all been very low key. We are just beginning
to get geared up.
Our big emphasis right now is getting people to encourage their churches
to become BWA Global Impact Churches. We can mail anyone who is interested
a brochure- all my contact information is below and I would be the one
people should contact about this program. The brochure encourages churches
to put us in their budget for at least $1,000 dollars, which gives a
church the BWA Global Impact Church designation and a number of benefits
which we are working on now.
For an annual contribution of $5,000 or more per year a church is designated a William Carey Global Impact Church. We are also emphasizing the “Make Up The Difference” Campaign in a mailing to everyone on our USA and Canadian mailing list. This mailing encourages individual contributions to make up what the SBC is taking away and asks people to encourage their church or church foundation to make a special one-time contribution as well as become a Global Impact Church.
In addition to these emphases, we also have a new brochure, “Where There Is A Will...There’s A Way,” that encourages people to include the BWA in their estate planning.
The BWA Website is www.bwanet.org. Unfortunately we are in the process of doing a new website that will have on-line giving, but that is not up and running yet.
