Jeanie Miley to Keynote 97 Convocation on Spiritual Formation Jeanie Miley, nationally-known author and speaker on spiritual formation, will keynote the 1997 Texas Baptists Committed Convocation in Austin, August 1–2. The theme for this year’s convocation is Texas 2000: Being Spiritually Prepared. Our convocation is always a totally nonpolitical event. We do not discuss the convention controversy. The purpose of the convocation is to provide a break during the year to give our supporters a 24-hour dose of fellowship, encouragement and spiritual direction. We are very excited about this year’s program. The focus is on helping Texas Baptists be the kind of people, have the kind of personal relationship with Jesus, to make Texas 2000 successful. Other speakers include George Mason, pastor of Wilshire Baptist Church, Dallas; Bill Turner, pastor of South Main Baptist Church, Houston; Ken Massey, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Waco; Doug Tipps, pastor of First Baptist Church, San Marcos; Jeanie Miley, nationally-known author and speaker on spiritual formation, will keynote the 1997 Texas Baptists Committed Convocation in Austin, August 1–2.
