GET INFORMED; PRAY; AND VOTE FOR BGCT OFFICERS

By the time you read this, Americans will have elected a new president of the United States. Regardless of who wins, I hope and pray that all of us support America, and are kind and respectful to those who voted differently than we did. Kindness is too rare these days.

Next week, we will elect a new BGCT president and other officers. This year, TBC chose to not endorse a candidate for any office. So far, five people have announced their candidacies:

PRESIDENT: Stephen Hatfield, pastor of FBC, Lewisville; and David Lowrie, pastor of FBC, Canyon

FIRST VICE PRESIDENT: Carolyn Strickland (widow of Phil Strickland), member of Wilshire Baptist Church, Dallas, and leader in developing and running preschools for Hispanic children, preparing them for 1st grade and teaching them English; and Ken Coffee, member of FBC, San Antonio, and a former member of the BGCT staff

SECOND VICE PRESIDENT: Bobby Broyles, pastor of FBC, Ballinger (no announced opposition at this time)

To inform yourselves for the election, click on the name of each candidate to go to the Baptist Standard article concerning his/her candidacy. Please read these articles carefully, pray seriously, and vote as you feel led. Also, please read my TBC Newsletter article, 2008 Election of BGCT Officers, as well as the following editions of A Rancher's Rumblings, which discuss this election:

Thank you for your support of TBC and the BGCT.
