Let’s Explore Baptist Beliefs: a Children’s Guide to Basic Biblical Teaching by Johnnie Human
By Emily A. Row

Gone are the days of Training Union, but it is still essential to expose our children to biblical teaching from a Baptist Perspective (see The Last Word, page 15). Let’s Explore Baptist Beliefs is a wonderful new resource from BAPTISTWAY PRESS® for doing just that. Both the children’s book and the leader’s guide are well written and easy to use. The books use five sessions to teach a broad range of Baptist beliefs, including:

• The Lordship of Christ

• The Authority of the Bible

• Salvation through Faith

• Security of the Believer

• Priesthood of the Believer

• Baptism & the Lord’s Supper

• Church Autonomy

• Religious Freedom

• Missions/Evangelism

• Voluntary Cooperation Among Churches

Although it is amazing to think that anyone could adequately address all these beliefs and their biblical basis in just five sessions, this is one of the best resources I’ve seen for introducing these beliefs to children (their parents are sure to like it too!) The children’s book is filled with appealing graphics, puzzles, games, and skits that make learning enjoyable. The leader’s guide is easy to follow and provides great ideas for teaching the material in a variety of settings.

This is a great resource for churches or for individual families. Children’s books are $3.95 each and the Leader’s guide is available for only $2.95. For information about ordering, shipping charges and other resources available from BAPTISTWAY PRESS® call toll free 1-866-249-1799.
