CO-CHAIR THOUGHTS FROM MAURIECE JOHNSTON
Keep Focus on Texas 2000

Texas Baptists, as we focus on Texas 2000, let me suggest three things we can do to demonstrate our stewardship.

—Attend the convention of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, Fort Worth, November 11–12. Be elected a messenger from your church.

—Re-elect Dr. Charles Wade as president of the convention. Charles Wade’s ministry as a pastor and a missions leader stands for all to see. Dr. Wade deserves to be re-elected president of the BGCT.

—Remember the goals of Texas 2000: “To the Glory of God, Share Jesus with Every Person in Texas by the year 2000; Be a family of loving, joyful, obedient servants of Jesus Christ; seek fresh new Direction and Power from the Holy Spirit through Scripture and Prayer; and Develop Great Commission Churches for All Persons.”

To focus on Texas 2000 is to be family in Christ “for we are laborers together with God.”
