The sin of inaction

In the late 1930s, America chose blindness rather than seeing the horrors being done to innocent men, women and children by Adolph Hitler. It was not until the close of World War II, when troops liberated the concentration camps, that our eyes were forced open.

The tragedy of the executive committee action is not that the WMU has been stripped of its reason for being - that was a predictable political response to an organization that refused to be controlled. The tragedy is that inaction by traditional Baptists will cause a marvelous, dedicated organization to needlessly struggle.

If this latest action by the executive committee does not prompt action by the self-imposed fence-sitters, then the future for traditional Baptists is indeed dark.
